Inflammation of the pancreas is known as Pancreatitis, which can interfere in the normal process of digestion and also can cause hormonal imbalance. One of the causes of Pancreatitis is that before the release of digestive enzymes by the pancreas they start working. two types of Pancreatitis are acute and chronic. Acute Pancreatitis includes sudden inflammation which lasts for a short time whereas Chronic Pancreatitis includes long-lasting inflammation.

consumption of alcohol in heavy quantity will damage the pancreatic cells and is the main cause of Chronic Pancreatitis. symptoms of pancreatitis are fever, nausea and vomiting, increased heartbeat, tender belly, diarrhea and then weight loss, constant pain in the upper belly, etc.

heavy consumption of alcohol, autoimmune disorders, heavy medications and their side effects, surgery, trauma are some of the causes of Pancreatitis.

Treatment of Pancreatitis includes intravenous fluid injection, low-fat diet, antibiotics, ERCP, and some surgeries in severe conditions. risk reduction behaviors are avoidance of smoking and alcohol abuse.
