Answer #1

A patient is receiving D5W 125mL/hour

D5W contains Dextrose 5% in water for injection, to know the dextrose quantity we have to

(M Lof DextroseSolution x Percentageof Dextrose) - 100

(125ml x 5) = 100 = 6.25gram

I gram dextrose provides 3.4 KCL

So, 6.25 gram will provide 21.25 KCL,   6.25gm x 3.4kcl/gm = 21.25kcl

Answer - Patient receiving 21.25 KCL/hr
