Answer #1

Patient is recieving medication at the rate= 20 ml/hr

Available medication= 400mg in 500 ml

means 400mg/500 ml= 0.8 mg/ml

Apllied rate= 20 ml/hr

1 ml contains 0.8 mg

in 20 ml there will be= 20 x 0.8 mg= 16 mg

means 16 mg/hr =16000mcg/hr (as 1mg= 1000 mcg)

= 266.66 mcg/min will be the applied flow rate and this is for 50 kg patient

Now

How many mcg/kg/min 50 kg patient is recieving= 266.66/50= 5.33 mcg/kg/min
