Answer #1

Computed tomography is a test which scans inside of our body by using powerful x rays so we can know the problems inside of our body.Radiation damages DNA of our cells and it may result in the formation of cancer.

The reason everyone is having fear of obtaining cancer by using this type of scan is because it sends 100-200 x rays and it is small amount but regular exposure may cause problems.CT scan exposes more radiation than mommagrams and normal x rays.It does not mean than everyone who gets exposed will get cancer but it happens to 1 in 2000 depends on their age, gender and the part they are exposed as some organs are more sensitive than others which grow and divide quickly for example breasts, bone marrow, lungs etc.

But if it is necessary than the person should undergo the scan because the chances of getting cancer is very low but the advantages outweighs the disadvantages in this matter. As CT scan gives thorough information of our body which will help in traetment of the disease.
