I am choosing the field of Children's Social Worker

I really want to become a social worker and help kids. I find this agency a very satisfying job. I want to work with children and help them because I was younger and I was in the social service system and needed help myself at one time. There is so much sadness in the world these days and I think it starts out in children.

I had considered another agency. I wanted to become a victim's advocate. I had needed the help when I was younger in the court system due to a substantial event that had happened to me. I couldn't have imagined going through it without someone being there for me like the victim's advocate.

There are a lot of benefitting factors to being a social worker. "You will never be bored. It is not a desk job. It is a diverse career. It will challenge you in ways few other careers will. It will teach you things you never knew about yourself. It will make you a better policymaker. You get to be a person who changed someone's life for the better. It teaches you the true value of things. You get to stand up for human rights and social justice." (Guardian news and media, 2016)

School, children and family social workers are professional people who work in this field. They help kids in school and teachers with students who need help. They help parents who need resources in order to care for their child/ children better. Sometimes mental health or substance abuse workers will have to step in depending on if the child is someone into drugs or needing help with their mental well-being.
