Electronic medical records (EMR) provide security and safety for the health records of the patient. It reduces medical error and useful for patients and providers to improve diagnosis and treatment plans. It saves space in records environment, it enhances patient workflow and increases productivity. It improves accuracy and efficiency in the billing process.
EMR usability improves patient safety and quality of care. Office of the National Coordination(ONC) for HIT usability process enahnce safety satandrds user-centered design. EMR Interoperability provides effective communication for patient health inforamtion. Interoperability improve patient care, lower cost amd reduce medical error and care coordination. It is a highly complex process it need oranizaiton cololboration from various stakeholders, patient, provider, legislature and HIT professioanls.when using an EMR interoperability it benfit with patient real data time for infromed decision about patient health. It increase access to medical record for patient faster and easier. it provide cost benefit with EMR adaptation and interoperability abd reduce malpractice lwasuit and increase revenue.
when the EMR initiative was nit pursued there will be potential safety issues and harm to the patient and make a complex health care environment.
