POSTPARTUM CARE :
The care given to the mother and the child immediately after delivery of the baby and ends at 6 weeks in which the mother's body has nearly returned to pre pregnant stage is called as " postpartum care ".

1)Educated about vaginal bleeding ,normal bleeding as regular menstrual bleeding upto 3 or 4 days and continuous upto 6 weeks 2)Educated about heavy bleeding like more than 6 pads per day and it's complications 3) Educated about iron rich diet and high protein diet 4) Educated about kegal exercises to reduce bleeding |

1) Educated about iron rich diet with plenty of vitamin c containing foods 2) Eat wide variety of vegetables , fruits with less fatty acid containing foods 3) Indicate giddiness , headache and light headedness immediately to health personnel |

Breast tenderness reduced |
1) Educated about breast feeding technique 2) if the patient have cracked nipples or sore nipples , do not apply any medications without consulting and allow few drops of milk after feeding and leave the nipple open to air to dry 3) clean the nipples before feeding always to prevent infections for baby 4) Sit in comfortable position and use pillows for feeding the baby 5)Feed the baby on demand continuously 6) Breastfeeding is a natural contraception upto 6 months and maintain space for 2 years for next pregnancy |
