Case Presentation : Swati is a teacher. She thinks that she is going mad and she is not able to manage with her day to day life.
Past History : Swati lost her mother past 6 months due to cancer
Her Husband left her due to some unknown reasons and was in relationship with some other Girl.
She has a small baby of 9 months old.
On Examintaion :
She does not have any past medicl history of mental illness. However doctor had prescribed her medicine for her anxiety six months back which she was not taking.
She continuously worries about everything
She thinks that she will not be able to take the responsibility of her child alone and her anxiety has become worse from past 6 months.
When she is worried she has shortness of breath.
She has irregular sleeping pattern and difficulty sleeping due to worry.
She has low energy levels.
She does not drink alcohol.
Intervention : Provided education to Swati regarding Generalised Anxiety Disorder.
Referred her to psychoeducational Group.
Explained her the role of anti anxiety drugs and how these could help her. Motivated her to take the traetment as prescribed by the doctor.
