Liability is legally harming and it can be prevented by :-

Follow policies and procedures, keep proper documentation, file event reports and keep anecdotal records, use problem solving skills, and apply risk management.

Policies - The principles that direct the facility's activities; they states what the facility does.

Procedures - The methods the facility uses to carry out its policies; they explain how the facility operates.

Some of the Risk management techniques and examples are :-

1. Risk avoidance - for example keeping the height of bed low to avoid fall .

2. Non - threatening - example using techniques which have low severity

3. Following policies and procedures - for example reporting incident reports ,safe documentation etc
