Interprofessional education allows students to better collaborate and learn about how to improve health outcomes. Collaboration is important to improve health systems and outcomes. The NES Southeast Multi-professional team has created a IPL masterclass to help increase patient safety and enhance patient satisfaction. During this masterclass, many different healthcare workers are taught by a interprofessional group from general practices. They learn about adult learning, teaching and learning styles, giving feedback, effective group-work, planning learning sessions, managing difficult behaviors, and how to evaluate. These skills are then brought back to help improve their own health systems and to help interprofessional education in their health systems. A student nurse from this masterclass said, It allows better communication between the different professions and better understanding of each others’ roles. This can only contribute better quality of care for patients, more effective working and quicker/better discharge." I believe that having knowledge and skills is important and using that knowledge and skills to collaborate and share is even more important to help create an environment that is safe and enhances patient satisfaction. Without collaboration, employees will not be able communicate properly and this can lead to errors, which will effect the safety of patients.

The aim of any health care team is to improve patient satisfaction, quality of care, patient safety, and reduce health care cost. For this, interprofessional collaboration is the ultimate needs of health professionals. when health professionals collaborate with all other health care workers, it improves coordination and communication of all team members and thereby improving the quality and safety of health care. Interprofessional collaboration can be achieved by interprofessional education. IPE will improve the skills of the individuals as well as group members of the team. It makes the health professional share the ideas, thoughts, and powers towards the goal setting. IPE improves the communication skill and mutual trust in between the team members. Thus the way interprofessional collaboration minimizes the patient error and reduce the health care cost. Interprofessional education focuses on patient-centered care to meet the needs of the patient and attaining patient satisfaction. Interprofessional education should be added as apart in the nursing education program.
