what exactly is ethics in health care. go deep in response please.
Ethics in health care is about right and wrong, our knowledge about the rights we have and the duties we supposed to do to others. Ethics gives us a clear guide in making clear choices about the care we medically receive.
Health care ethics have 4 major principles,
Autonomy: This states that a patient rights to make his own decisions should be honored. Any patient can only be adviced about the treatment strategy and the prognosis, it's solely on the patient to make a decision. And it's health care professionals responsibility to honor the decision taken by the patient.
Beneficence: Health care professionals should always help the patient advance for their own good. It means we as a health care team should help the patient prevent or remove the harms from their surroundings so as to help them advance in the treatment modalities.
Nonmaleficence: it clearly states 'NO HARM'. As a health care team we are not suppose to harm the patient or patient relative intentionally or by mistake. No harm by any means is the duty we have to carry out.
Justice : Every patient needs to be treated fair irrespective of their nationality, their caste, creed, color. It's means no discrimination while treating a patient.
Health care ethics help the health care professionals to provide quality health care to all and helps to enhance the level of care being provided.
