Answer: CVA is a Medical term use for stroke which occurs due to loss of supply of blood in the brain. The treatment used in the Stroke depends upon the many factors such as types of strokes etc.

Symptoms:

  • Weak muscles
  • Fatigue
  • Unable to walk properly.
  • Difficulty in speaking
  • Blurred vision

The treatment includes such as:

1. Alteplase: This is used in the treatment as it break down the clot that causes obstruction in the normal flow of blood in the vessels.

2. Blood thinners: The blood thinners used to prevent the blood to form a clot or helps in dissolving the present clot. Eg. Revaroxaban.

3. Statin : Prevent the harmful production of cholesterol.

4. Antihypertensive drugs: To manage the blood pressure.

5. ACE inhibitors: Reduces the blood pressure which lead to smooth flow of the blood and hence also prevent kidney damage.

6. Supportive care: Monitoring heart rate with the electronic device.

7. Surgery: Surgical removal of clot which is build-up in the carotid arteries located in the neck.

8. Therapy: Speech therapy, physiotherapy etc are done after the initial treatment is given.
