9. The Body Adiposity Index (BAI) is an alternative method of measuring human body fat.

As opposed to calculating body fat using the Navy method or the BMI method, the BAI is calculated without considering the person's body weight. Based on population studies, the BAI is approximately equal to the percentage of body fat for adult men and women of differing ethnicities.

The BAI is a good tool in measuring adiposity mainly because of the advantages over other more complex mechanical or electrical systems. The most important advantage of BAI over BMI is that weight is not needed. Nevertheless, it seems that the BAI does not overcome the limitations of BMI.

For men between age 20 and 40, 10% to 20% of body fat is generally good to excellent. For men age 40+ to 60+, 19% to 23% is considered good to excellent.

a.180-pound male with 36 pounds of fat has a body fat percentage of 20%. Simply multiply the amount of fat you have by 100 and divide by your total weight:

36 x 100 = 3600
=3600 / 180

= 20%

Same as like that 170 pound male with 5 pounds of fat has a body percentage of 3%

=5 x 100 =500

500/170

=3%

b.126.7 pound female with 38 pounds of fat has a body fat percentage of 30%.

ie.38 x 100 =3800

=3800/126.7

=30%

Same as like that a 99 pounds female with 12 pounds of body fat has a body fat percentage of 12%

ie,1200/99

=12%

10. Using your current fat mass calculate the total number of kilocalories of energy are contained with your fat stores;1 lb of fat =3500Kilocalories,1 kg = 2.2lb

a. Suppose 1lb of fat = 3500 kilocalories and the body fat stores is 36 pounds(lb) we can calculate the kilocalories = 36 x 3500

=126000kilocalories

Same like that if the body fat stores are 5 pounds (lb) we can calculate the kilocalories

=5 x 3500

=17500 kilocalories

Suppose if the body fat stores are 38 pounds (lb) we can calculate the kilocalories as

= 38 x 3500

=133000 kilocalories

Same like that if the body fat stores are 12 pounds (lb) we can calculate the kilocalories

=12 x 3500

=42000 kilocalories
