Nursing care providers perception on their role contribution in patient care are
1) Primary role of nurse is patient care. She will act as a care taker by identifying the problems of the patient and help them to meet the unsatisfied needs into satisfied needs.
2) Nurse is like a protector for the patient.she maintains the safe environment and free from injury.
3) Nurse acts as a counsellor because they will communicate and identify the patients feelings, attitude about wellness,what type of support they needed to overcome the illness like emotional,intellectual,psychological, family support. she will also use the therapeutic communication to identify the alternative or desired behavior changes and recognizes the choices and sense of control.
4) Nurse will be act as a manger in emergency situation. she will coordinate the activities with other health team members make them to utilize and manage the time and resources within the limit. She will use her critical thinking skills to take decision.
5) Nurses main role towards patient care is health education. She will teach them how to maintain their positive health and also she will be informing them also whatever procedures they are performing and the right choices of treatment. she will encourage the patient to approach her in anytime for their health related queries.
6) Nurses important role is communication.as the nurse are be with the patient every time and they will communicate with the patient in a quality way each and every time the nurse will explain and talk with the patient and their family about their health issues, treatment procedures, etc.
7) nurse will act as collaborator for the patient. because she has to have good relation ship with the doctors, house keeping staffs, nutritionist, physiotherapist, pharmacists, lab technicians, IT people etc...
8) Nurse also act as a advocate in certain situation, since she was the supporter for the patient. she protect the patient from human and legal rights and she knows the information about laws and legal related information.
9) sometimes nurse will be behaving like a teacher. she will teach the patient about the health care procedures like self care.encouraging them to ask their doubts and she will clarify it in simple and understanding way.she also will teach about health insurance and reimbursement.
10) she will act as a researcher in patient care by using evidenced based nursing care to improve the health of the patient.
