I think its a great idea that Apple created an application on smart phones to have patients medical records handy. One of my reasons is because it is time efficient since patients have easy access to schedule appointments, request medications, or view their records or lab results. With this technology it is easier for a patient to schedule an appointment or request an appointment rather than calling the health center or having to go in person therefore it's also helpful for employees, since working in the medical field can be overwhelming most of the times. Another reason is that many patients want to know their lab results. For example, when a patient gets lab work done chances are, they will have a couple of days and sometimes even weeks until they receive their results or a call back from the doctor. Having this application eases their concern as it is quicker to know their results by checking their application through their cellphones.

The health center I go to promotes a similar application but instead it is called My chart. I have access to this application via cellphone or Internet. I love this application because I have just recently merged my children's accounts together with mine and being the primary account holder I have access to many of their most important information such as last physical, checking if they are up to date with their immunizations, or if I have any questions I am just an email away with a timed response of 2-24 hours. Ever since the clinic came up with this application contacting nurses has been very easy and scheduling appointments has been amazing. I love how i can schedule or reschedule without having to feel bad because I have someone waiting for us to agree on a date, which sometimes can be difficult.

Now a days there are many health care technologies the have been very helpful and have improved the health care system. There are also apps on cellphones that track your steps, reminders to drink water, calorie counter, and many more including fitness. Many people don't have the motivation to eat healthier or exercise due to lack of knowledge. Myself for example one year ago, I did not know how to run healthy enough for a long period of time and it is amazing how I have learned due to an application through my cellular device. This is amazing because this application has a sensor and it tells you when to go faster or when to slow down, it keeps you informed how many laps you have ran and how many calories you have burned. It also gives you tips on how to stretch and counts the calories I have eaten as I go inputting in my phone.

Now the only bad thing I think about all these technologies and the health care system is that not many people are technology savvy. How about our elderly people that don't really understand cellular phones? They don't get to take much advantage of these applications because they need assistance to help them understand whats going on. Also, there are many low-income people that cannot afford to have an iPhone, or a smart phone. How would they be able to monitor their records online? If you do not have an iPhone, would you still have access to the Apple Health Records feature?

Answer: Due to Advanced technology, it has become much easier for the patient as well as for the healthcare professionals. It provides better opportunities for the patient to get the appointments. But every coin has a two sides so as it also have the same. It has one of the bad quality that not everyone is used to the technology and many people have to learn or some can't afford this technology.
