Type II Diabetes, America's norm Type 2 diabetes is the most common type of diabetes. This type of diabetes is also known as insulin resistance because the body does not use insulin properly. Many people are living with type two diabetes and have no idea they have it. Type 2 diabetes is beginning to be the norm for Americans. The many people who are living with this illness are doing just enough to control it and those who do not have it are not working hard at not getting it. Most of these poor diet decisions are the result of society's perception of "what's normal". What I am saying is, if you went out and purchased a burger with fries and a coke, you have a good lunch. If you go out and buy a healthy lunch (one day) you are okay but all week you are looked at as a health food junkie or a someone who is more wealthy than most. Where does this analogy come from? You will not find the same quality of healthy options in C Town or Key Food that you will find in Whole Food or Stew Leonards. Our food sources are not set up to assist us with a more natural way to decrease Type 2 diabetes. It has found a way to become America's norm.

Diabetes 2 is very much affected by the diet we are taking. Diet should have low glycemic index should be used. Diet like burger with coke is the food with high glycemic index and increase the blood sugar. However, in our society, it is a wrong perception that if you eat diet like burger or pizza in lunch, you have a good lunch. But this is not in reality, because its disturb the normal glucose level in the body. The wrong perception in our society is that eating healthy diet, is not considered as normal activity. This perception is wrong.

Our society should teach their children , the importance of proper diet in diabetes 2 . One should take care of themselves, irrespective of what other person are thinking about you because “health is wealth”.
