PALLIATIVE CARE
Palliative care is the active holistic care of individuals across all ages with serious health suffering due to severe illnesses especially those who are near to end of life. There is some wrong information about palliative care, The aim of palliative care is to support the clients to maintain independence and improve the quality of life with severe illness, but some people believe that in palliative care patient depends on care gives for care. Also, there is a myth that the palliative care is only provided in hospitals, actually it can be provided in the home also, It is applicable to all health care settings, primary, secondary, territory settings..It can be provided by professionals with basic training in palliative care, not by all nurses. It is not a pain relief care for dying people .It is applicable throughout the course of an illness based on the clients' needs.
