Palliative Care is to relieve discomfort &/or symptoms

To provide a quality of life for patients and family members through a team oriented, interdisciplinary approach which reduces pain and other symptoms through management of them; and, through a patient-specific, emotional and spiritual care support.

Families role in palliative care :-

- to provide patient a quality period of time

- pain control and comfort

- provide them with information so that they can make informed consent

- providing practical assistance , emotional ,and spiritual support

- maintaining privacy

- maintaining continuity

- regular follow ups

- providing medication at correct time

- providing a healthy diet
