1.In kidney disease the potassium can not be removed by the kidney leading to accumulation of potassium in the blood causing hyperkalemia. So it is a must to avoid potassium rich foods and they are as following

  • Beans,potatoes ,bran,spinach,tomatoes, vegetable juice,carrot, cucumber, cabbage
  • Nuts,Avacados
  • whole grains
  • Bananas ,apples, grapes,pineapple ,berries,watermelon
  • Cantaloupe

2.Sodium content in the blood if high, can cause a rise in blood pressure. Some of the foods to be avoided which contains high sodium are

  • Canned meat,fish,poultry
  • Salted nuts
  • Beets,spinach
  • Packaged foods
  • Sweet bakery products
  • Tacos
  • Processed food
