How productive are physician extenders (physician assistants, nurse practitioners, etc.) in terms of the production of health services? What is the significance of the problem?

Physician extenders are highly productive reducing the workload of a physician.This saves the physician time and can make the physician to increase the time spent with a patient and tgereby improving the quality of care. They are able to prescribe refill medications for the patients,can clarify any queries of patient via phone calls,improved revenue up to 20%for a physician.

An important problem being there are chances that these providers at times may replace a primary care provider if their services seems to be the best than a physician service.

It has still not implanted its service in cancer care.

Lack of training (theoretical and practical ) when compared to a physician in certain areas.

There are also chances of misdiagnosis in case of pediatricis

The resident training is more for a physician than a physician provider
