As a nurse, when you supervise Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) or Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), our role as nurses must be to take into account patient safety, the competency of the staff members and the acuity of the patients. The RN who supervises must know the basic competencies and their ability to perform the task. I intend to take accountability and know when to delegate and how to delegate tasks. Understanding scopes of practice of an RN, LVN, CNA and understanding what state allows the individual to their individual organization. Independent nursing practice does not require direction or an order from another health care professional. Actions regulate by the state boards of nursing and nurse practice acts. Support ADLs, health promotion, health education and counseling. Environment may be managed when a nurse maintains a safe therapeutic environment, promote rest, cleanliness, reduce noise and to manage environmental temperature. Dependent nursing practice is when nurses need orders or dictation by physicians or nurse practitioners. An example may include such as NG tube insertion, tube feeding, blood tests (BRN, n.d.).

The role of the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) is to focus on the patient's safety and better delivery of care to them. It also includes the competency of the staff members and the acuity of the patients. The Independent nursing practice does not require direction or an order from another health care professional. Nurse need to take care of their patients by improving the competency, providing clean environment, reduce noise and manage environmental temperature.

How nurse can provide cultural competence environment to the patients?
