I consider myself a lifelong learner, especially in the nursing profession. There are different aspects in nursing that promote continuous growth and development. Nursing have several roles and are not confined into one area in the medical field. Nurses can further their practices with an advanced degree or specialization, such as nurse practitioner or nurse anesthetist. As a health care provider, standard of practice is always evolving, and one must be able to adapt to these changes. As we have mentioned last week, evidence-based practice is the most current practice that provides the best patient outcome (Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses, 2018). The EBP this time may not be the best practice in five years. We must be able to learn, adapt, and grow professionally. Lifelong learning is a motivational factor that drives me personally to seek for opportunities, explore differences, and adapt to changes.
