How does Epidemiology relate to disease prevention and how is it applied to one's personal life?
Since epidemiology is the study which tries to investigate the cause i.e. the origin of diseases in a community, such an investigation leads to the identification of the causes of the outbreak and leading to interventions for preventing the further cases of the disease. Thus it relates to disease prevention and it is applied to one's personal life as people try to avoid the causes of the diseases in their day to day life. For example, when we know that malaria is spread by the bite of mosquitos we will avoid it.
