Why do you think certain diseases are viewed as powerful moral threats, even greater than the actual impact of the disease? What seems to be at stake?

Answer :

* Some diseases are viewed as powerful moral threats because, those diseases does not have curable treatment and those diseases are spread by person to person due to improper maintainance of aseptic techniques and hygiene.

* For example like communicable diseases measles and mumps, previous days there is no treatment, but now a days vaccination has started to prevent those diseases.

* Some of sexually transmitted diseases like syphilis, and HIV, AIDS are not having curable treatment, so those type of disorders may create some of moral threats among population.

* Even though we can prevent it spread by one to another persons by maintaining isolation and with out maintaining contract with multiple sex partners, but the moral threats are very powerful, once people are suffering from this type of disorders.

* so the moral threats are more powerful than the actual impacts of the diseases.
