It is a trillion dollars industry which includes thousands of hospitals, nursing homes , specialized care facilities, independent practices and partnerships , based on webs and IT based organizations , organizations where cares are managed and the major companies which manufactures etc.

The health and Human services of US department is the principal agency of the federal government of US which is involved in the healthcare services. The organizations which are included in this are:

- centres for Medicare and Medicaid services.

Medicaid is described to be a health care service which is provided for the poor section in US where they will be treated for the preventive aspect, as well as acute and chronic problems of the people which is about 10% of the population i.e. about 25 million people. Medicaid is financially supported by the joint effort of state government and the federal government.

It also includes community health and health sciences administration which are applied in order to promote health in the individual as well as community level.
