Evidence-based nursing (EBN) is an internationally approved way of nursing practice, which is being served as the central source of knowledge in the practice of nursing. In order to practice EBN, a nurse needs to combine and apply the clinical expertise, and research evidence while considering the patient’s clinical status, preferences, clinical setting, the available resources, and the other clinical circumstances.
Decision making is a cognitive process, which is done based on the available options and considering the values and preferences. The decision making is done by outweighing the benefits and loses, which may or may not prompt action. One may take risks in decision making if no other better options are available, particularly during emergencies.
