- Complementary are treatments used in addition to conventional health care regimens recommended by a person's health care provider.

- Alternative medicine often include the same interventions as complementary therapies but frequently become the primary treatment modality that replaces that allopathic medicine.

Complementary medicine is viewed as holistic health care, which deals not only with the physical perspective, but also with the emotional and spiritual components of the individual.

2) The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has three primary goals: expand access to health insurance, protect patients against arbitrary actions by insurance companies, and reduce costs. The United States spends far more on health care than any other industrialized nation and the quality of health care is often much worse.
