1. Based on the article I read , I got to know that informatics is a new field in nursing , which is in its establishing stage . While healthcare informatics have changed the whole scenario in the healthcare sector based on what it was in past . Informatics in healthcare is being used to provide appointments , make consultations ,discharge summaries , telehealth services etc . With the advancement in technology , every sector is improving and getting advance . Healthcare sector also is getting advance by the usage of informatics but it's not being utilised in every department of healthcare . Since ,it's just started it will take time to make the changes from paper to keyboard .

Use of informatics in nursing field is utmost important for the healthcare informatics development. Because nursing is a vital part of healthcare . It's in the starting stage in nursing field , nurses are using informatics for admissions , discharges , putting indents , maintaining inventory , e - learning etc. Many of the healthcare sector has developed a cadre called Nursing informatics specialist within the Nursing officer post to help the nurses to teach how to utilise informatics in their field and also to empower it. There are many benefits of using informatics in nursing like :-

- no paper work

- easy capture in the computer about patient health information

- less time utilisation in documentation

- more time for patient care

- knowledge upgradation of self

By the invent of informatics , the staffs ( healthcare workers including all physicians ,nurses , laboratory staff etc ) are able to do their work more efficiently in less time . Nurses are able to pay more time for patient care than wasting time on writing in the paper as a part of documentation .

2. According to the reading and my perspective , it will be a great advancement in the field of nursing with the evolution of informatics . In the upcoming years it will become more advanced and will have good impact on nursing practice as everything will be evidenced based on research which can be provided to the patient fast without any delay and misconducts . Overall the care will be accessible , affordable and quality efficient .
