Is there concern regarding side effects or interactions that the patient should be educated about? How would you present this to the patient?



Case Study:
A student has recently graduated from college with a health related degree. She is now ready to pursue her career. A friend recommends that she obtain membership in the professional organization related to her career before starting her job search.

It is most important and one of the powerful tools in patient compliance that the patient must be educated about his disease or if not, it is the responsibility of health provider to educate to them.

But here most important is that educate them that part only which will help to recover them means not in depth and not half also.

E.g. if you educate patient deeply then he will take decision on his own and results in side affects of treatment. E.g. if patient is on blood pressure therapy and in between if he discontinue therapy or if he consider that it is of no need then it results in sever life threatening side effects.

E.g. if one patient having mental disorder and we educate them about treatment and his involvement, it would result in better outcomes.

Educate the patient because it is need of treatment but same time we have to tell them that decision will be make by the health professional only.
