* Humidification is a process of moisturizing dry air to maintain moisture

   level in the air.

* Dry oxygen can be moisturized by passing through a humidifier (a bottle filled

with distilled water).

* Nurses humidify oxygen when the patient with various respiratory diseases like

   asthma,COPD ,croup etc require oxygen administration continuously over a long

   period of time to avoid dryness of respiratory tract mucus membrane which result

   in discomfort during breathing.
