Answer: There is a higher level of obesity in the Bronx than in the upper West Side neighborhood in Manhattan as 1 out of 3 children found to be suffering from childhood obesity. For a healthy weight it is necessary to have balanced diet along with physical activity. The children as well as adult dono indulge themselves in the physical activities. They do not perform exercise for at least 20 minutes per day. They are not active in sports. In one of the report it has been found that 33% of the population does not exercise or willing to do any kind of exercise. Increase intake of sugar is also one of the contributing factor. The unhealthy eating habits also causes increase in the weight.

Obesity is a condition due to the interaction of genes with the environment as gene plays major roles in the weight gain. But it is also influenced by the environmental factors such as unhealthy eating habits, excessive consumption of alcohol etc. Lack of physical activities also affects the obesity rate.
