Answer the questions following the scenario: Casey Anderson, a 25-year-old female, arrives for her six-week postpartum check-up. She states that she is adjusting just fine to being a mom. She reports that she gets tired easily and has had a low-grade fever for a few days. You begin your assessment. Ms. Anderson's vital signs are: T: 99.9°F, P: 80 bpm RR: 18/min BP: 110/60 mm Hg Ms. Anderson appears to be in good overall health. When you ask her how she feels, she answers, I feel pretty good, but I get tired easily. I'm sure it is because I have to get up several times during the night to go to the bathroom. On physical examination, you note that Ms. Anderson's perineum is intact. A few minimal hemorrhoids are noted and her vaginal area is slightly erythematous. Her breasts aretender, but no abnormal changes are noted. Ms. Anderson states that she still has a minimal amount of vaginal bleeding, and she wears a panty liner that she has to change several times during the day. When palpating her abdomen, you note that Ms. Anderson winces. As you are just about to complete your assessment of Ms. Anderson, she says that she has noticed that her urine has a foul odor and is very dark. She also says, "Sometimes I wonder if I am going to make it to the bathroom, but once I get there I don't go much and it hurts when I go." I thought that it was normal after delivery. After reviewing the results of your physical assessment, you suspect Ms. Anderson has a urinary tract infection (UTI). Part of your plan for her care includes giving her a rubella vaccine and TDAP.

4.Urinalysis,Microscopy, culture and sensitivity.Blood cultures – should be done for patients with pyelonephritis.

6. A.Wipe from front to back when urinating and defecating to prevent bacteria being introduced to the v*gina and urethra. B.Avoid scented hygiene sprays, douches and bath products to prevent infection and irritation.   C.Cleanse genital area before and after sex. D.Empty bladder frequently and completely to avoid build up of toxins in the bladder. E.Drink lots of water. F.Wear cotton underwear and avoid tight fitting clothing.
