Answer #1

Answer: Aging and smoking influences the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics as due to aging process the cells becomes weak. The most of cells of the body gets shrink. The performance of the organs becomes slow. Hence this causes slow rate of absorption, metabolism rate reduces and hence slow digestion occurs. This is the reason the old people have less ability to tolerate the drug and it's side effects. The drug binding ability reduces due to poor solubility.

In the case of smoking, the lungs get full of carbon dioxide and other harmful gases. This causes less filtration of oxygen. Hence it distrubs the supply of blood. Less supply of blood causes slow at of absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination.
