Is there any reason a living will/advance directive should not be followed for a person who cannot speak?

Normally, living wills address one’s preferences about end-of-life medical treatments, but they can also communicate about wishes, values, or goals about any other aspect of care and treatment.
  no there is no reason that living wills shouldnot be folowed for those who dont speak. This is a legal dicument that only works when you are not able to take decision for yourself. It can be changed anytime but need to be revoked fully or formally change. No one else can change that for anyone without one’s permission.
