Answer #1

Given

Order:Vancomycin

Dose:2gm

Volume:250ml

Time:2 hours in minutes it is 120min(60×2)

Drop factor:15gtt/min(standard rate)

Flow rate=Total volume(ml) ×Drop factor ÷Time(hr)×60

=250×15÷2×60

=250×2×4

=250÷8

=31.25 or 31gtt/min

To set this in infusion pump the formula is volume divided by time multiplied by hours

Flow rate=Volume (ml)÷Time(min)×60

=250÷120×60

=125 ml

Ans:125ml/hour
