Management science decisions impacts us on a daily basis and many a times we do not realize that we have been subjected to management science decision. It is quite common for each one of us to receive advertisement messages on a daily messages but we often do not realize how marketers are sending targeted advertisement messages to us. Advertisers use a wide array of tools to understand the consumer preferences and each time a consumer does something, the tool records the consumer's actions which later on the advertiser uses to send targeted messages.

For example we often search for product information on the internet but we do not make any purchase. The website used for searching the information collects data about the consumer and feeds this data to the firm's marketing department. The marketing department makes use of this data to gain insights into the consumers purchasing behavior and makes decision about what type of advertisement messages should be targeted towards the consumer. This results in consumers being constantly delivered advertisement messages and this happens because the consumer has been impacted by management science decision of targeting selective consumers.
