Solution as follows:

Basin volume can be determined by prismoidal formula as below:

Where,

d = Depth

A1 and A2 = Bottom and top areas

Accordingly,

Volume of Basin from elevation 82 to 84,

Volume of Basin from elevation 84 to 86,

Volume of Basin from elevation 86 to 88,

Volume of Basin from elevation 88 to 90,

Since the high water volume elevation is 88 ft, volume of water from 88 ft to 90 ft elevation would be zero.

Hence total volume of water in detention basin,
