If you knew someone had a mental disorder, would you do any of the following: be open to having them as a friend, be open to hiring them as an employee of the company you own, consider dating and/or possibly marrying them? How and why do people stigmatize those who have or have had mental disorders?

If I knew someone had a mental disorder then I would like to make him or her my friend it is because I want to make him or her feel that he or she is still normal for us and he or she can be cured if he has strong desire to be cure. Generally, the patients suffering from psychological disorder thinks that they can never be cured and the sadness in their life increased so much that they don't want to live more. It is necessary to bring happiness in their life and make them busy by way of being their friends.

People stigmatize those who have or have had mental disorders because they consider them mentally disabled. Society have sense of fear from people suffering from mental disorder because they think that they are threat for them as they can attack them because they don't have sense. Some people feel that they can also face psychological problems if they will live near to the person suffering from psychological disorder. All these types of beliefs and mentality is developed by society as our society give much attention towards spreading rumors.
