How can you prepare yourself to become an effective change agent? Provide an example of a change that you would make in your organization, if you had the power to do so.

Select an entry-level position in your organization. Design and post a new set of responsibilities and attributes that person should have in the year 2025.

Pettigrew's context of implementation to organize critical factors are

• The content of innovation - Difficulty, scope, complexity
• The context of innovation - Organizational capacity for change
• The process of implementation - Change Strategy
• The external environment - Politics, external pressure

Changes that can be achieved in jails if one had the power to do so

• Achieving a sound, coherent, and, practical design - Criminal justice innovations are riddled with serious design flaws. These flaws are common in risk assessment, and, offender classification
• The staff including jail managers should have a sufficiently compelling vision; managers failure to formulate a powerful vision. This cripples mobilization.
• Changes with broader impact, and, system transforming change require an elaborate implementation strategy
• Counterbalancing the difficulty level, and, time demands of a new procedure
• Overcoming the culture of resistance to change
