Motivational Theory helps in improving the performance and efficiency of the government employees thus being positively compatible with the government. Hygiene factors such as working conditions, supervision, performance assesment and job security are to be met for motivational factors to play their part effectively. According to Herzberg's theorythe baseline of hygeine factors need to be fulfilled for applying the motivational theories. Other factors that can effect the efficiency at government sector are job evaluation, other employees' opinions, specification of duties and limitations, freedom to employees over decision making and implementation, encourging innovations. These are some steps that can be taken up for making the government employees work more effectively and efficiently by applying the motivational theories and improving their work performance though motivation.
