Beth is 22 years old and has a BMI in the healthy range. Discuss the steps she can take to prevent weight gain as she gets older.

A proper balanced diet should be maintained. Energy intake and expenditure should be maintained. Daily exercise is recommended. If she gains weight and BMI is more than recommended, then loss of weight is suggested through more energy expenditure and behavioral modification. A healthy working environment should be maintained to avoid stress. Avoid junk food. Periodically checking of the BMI is recommended and appropriated measures should be taken if the BMI deviates from normal.
