The genetic constitution of an individual can be measured in the term of Genotype while the expression of that genotype may be considered as phenotype.

Suppose the pea plant has hetergyzous for the wrinkle as the seed colour. Now the genotype may show the different gene combination but the phonotype always shows the round or wrinkle seed colour.

In the punnett squre, genotypically it may shows different but phonotypically it always shows whether it is homozygous or heterozygous.
