Hiring for Task or Organization

Hiring for the task that needs to be done or hiring for the organization are the two main step stones for hiring process by the organization. These two different kinds of hiring approach are different to each other but the organizations always try to mix both the approaches in their hiring process to get the best possible candidate for the job.

Let us understand the difference between the Hiring for Task and Hiring for Organization Fit

•  Hiring for Task specially focus on the aspect for hiring the person best suitable for the job according to its interest and skill set, But on the other hand hiring for organization fit focus on the candidate who can easily be adopted in the organizational working culture to maximize the organizational productivity.

• Hiring for the task are mainly for the professionals who are specialized in a task, But on the other hand hiring for organization fit is for the candidates who are capable of working in the culture of the organization easily.

Let’s understand the above concepts through a simple example

In the hospital there is a requirement of a Neurosurgeon so the hospital human resource department will focus on hiring a person with the proper knowledge and skills of a neurosurgeon this is an example of Hiring For Task, But on the other hand the same hospital require cleaner so the human resource will focus on hiring a person who is capable of cleaning the hospital many times a day due to huge crowd and he is capable of facing that pressure all day in the hospital and the hospital should be as clean as possible to ensure that germs does not spread. This is an example of Hiring for the Organization fit.

Best Options

Hiring an employee is the most important aspect for any organization to ensure that they are getting the best person for the job with good skills and main difference between hiring strategy between both the approach are hiring for task is simple as it can be checked by testing its qualifications skills through tests but on the other hand hiring for organization fit is very difficult to check as it can be mainly seen on when the person is actually working in the organization.
In our opinion the hiring for organizational fit will be more beneficial as the person can be easily trained and be given a certain level for knowledge for the job but he cannot be trained how to work in the team in the organization so it will be more good to hire a person with the organizational fit and this will help the organization to improve the quality and productivity up to a certain level.
