Consider a single-phase, semi-converter with two SCRs and two diodes. The load is purely resistive.
a) Draw the converter.
b) Draw the waveforms of the source voltage, the source current, and the output voltage for various firing
angles of 0°, 45°, 90°, and 135°.
c) Determine the rms value of the output voltage at the firing angle of 45°.
d) Calculate: DPF, PF, and %THD for the output voltage VO = 0.5 VX, where VX is the dc output voltage at
the firing angle of 0°.
e) Repeat Part (d) for a full converter
f) Compare results in Parts (d) and (e).
