Hydrogen bonds are one of the most frequently encountered week bonds in biomolecules. Although individually the bonds may be weak, but collectively hydrogen bonds give required stability for the biomolecules. Example is the hydrogen bonds between purines and pyramudines in DNA. Hydrogen bonds keep both the strands of a double helix together. Sometimes, the hydrogen bonds between the strands need to be broken to access the genetic code in the dna by replication enzymes. A replication bubble is formed. As the hydrogen bonds are weak, it is easier to break them without heat and much energy. If the bonds are not hydrogen bonds, then it would be impossible to separate the strands of DNA.
