The Reading for this week discusses how communication is not always effective or ethical. Give an example from your life in which communication between you and another person was not effective. Then, give an example of communication you observed or participated in that was unethical. Identify the source of these communications problems. After reviewing the information on page 13 and following, explain how greater communication competence could have been applied to these situations

Communication is an essential part of any individuals presence. It gives an extensive support to an individual to express there ideas as well as feeling accordingly.
Most of the times communication is necessary and effective in an ethical way for creating a better opportunity but sometimes communication is problematic and creates an awkward situation which could have been avoided by not communicating at all.

For an example, once in my company I was given a work to buy a new printer for the managers office, I went up to the manager's office and tried fixing the old printer and became successful. Even after knowing that the printer is fixed, for getting additional depreciation from the manager I was consistently asking him to check the old printer rather than just telling him that I have fixed the printer already and we do not need to buy another one for your cabin.
At the end manager became too frustrated and order me to go out rather than looking or operating the old printer. Later he ordered another employee of the organisation to buy a new printer for his cabin.
In this specific situation if I would not have communicated with the manager or directly communicated in a positive way then maybe this situation would have changed. If I had told the manager that the printer is fixed then maybe he should have directly agreed and should have appreciated me.

My greed of getting appreciated in the office was the main cause or reason of this is specific issue. As I used wrong terminology and focused on getting appreciated by the manager which resulted in an embarrassing situation.
