A simple epicyclic gear has a sun gear with 10 teeth and a ring gear with 100 teeth. If the sun gear is held stationary, calculate the speed/gear ratio when the ring gear is the input and the planet carrier is the output?

Part 2

Two parallel shafts which are 220mm apart are to be connected by a simple gear train, will all gear centres on the same line, using gears from a pool of six gears of teeth numbers 120, 80,60,40,20 and 10, all having the same module of 4mm. If the desired gear ratio is to be +6 which gears can be used?
