Various bacterial PAMPs that bind to pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) on a variety of defence cells of the body cause them to synthesize and secrete a variety of proteins called cytokines responsible for inflammation. Causes for hypoperfusion include low blood pressure, heart failure or loss of blood volume. Ischemia can affect any organ of the body.
