Answer #1

38) Hormones activate the target cells by entering into the plasma membrane of the target cell where they bind to a specific receptor protein which helps hormones to get secreted. The answer for this is option (c) which states that when the hormone is activated permissively it requires the presence of one hormone to activate the effect of the other hormone in order to bind to the receptor of the target cell effectively.

When one hormone amplifies the effect of the another hormone is knwon as synergism.

When one hormone opposes the action of another it is known as antagonism.

39) The answer is option (c). The parathyroid glands releases parathyroid hormones. These parathyroid hormones are controlled by the blood calcium hormonal control. When there is low calcium levels in the blood these hormones are released and they target the intestine and skeleton to increase it's blood calcium levels.

The neural stimuli stimulates the release of hormones called epinephrine and norepinephrine due to the stimulation of the adrenal medulla.

The humoral stimuli stimulates the release of hormones when there is a change in the level of the ion or extracelullar fluids.
