1. Black.

Sulphate, indole, motility medium is used to differentiate Gram negative bacilli on the basis of sulfide production. This medium contains ferrous ammonium sulfate and sodium thiosulfate. Production hydrogen sulfide forms ferrous sulfide which is a black precipitate. This confirms the sulphite producing bacteria.
